UAE's new Ecommerce Law: Consumer and user data protection scaled up, says Minister
Dubai is set to enhance consumer rights protection in e-commerce transactions with the introduction of new 'Executive Regulations'. These regulations are a part of the UAE's comprehensive Federal Decree No. 14 of 2023, which was issued in December and covers commerce utilizing modern technology. A high-ranking official from the Ministry of Economy stated that the UAE e-commerce law is among the most significant legislative advancements made in the past three years. This law not only aims to protect consumers but also outlines potential penalties for e-commerce and digital trade businesses that violate these protections.
